What Causes Left Side Headache?

My head hurt really back on the left-back side of my head in the morning, after maybe 1 to 2 hours after I woke up, and abit later like 10 minutes after I started experiencing the headaches, I felt like throwing up, but nothing came out. Also for a week now or something in that direction, my vision has not decreased, but I find it really difficult to focus on reading small text (like books and continents of food products). Ohh and I might want to add that before the headaches my right eye had these pixel like formations blocking my vision. I went to sleep for a couple of hours and the headaches seem to have gone, though something still seems to be stuck in my chest.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

One sided headache associated with nausea or vomiting is commonly migraine. It is caused by shoulder or neck tension, lack of sleep, poor posture, overexertion, stress(physical & emotional), alcohol & caffeine, skipping meals, etc. Get clinically examined, get blood tests, Sinus X-rays, CT, MRI, spinal tap done. Get diagnosed, get treated.

In the meantime you can take sumatriptan for relieve. Since you have difficulty in reading small texts, you are suggested to get an eye check up done. You may need Bifocal eyeglasses or correction for myopia, hyperopia, and/or astigmatism.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Nupur K, General & Family Physician
