What Causes Left Sided Abdominal Pain?

I was thrown from an intertube pulled from a boat at a rather high speed 1 week ago. I hit the water hard after being tossed around a bit. I ve experienced mild to more dicomfort for this entire week on the left side right below my rib cage. Could I have hurt my spleen?

Hi thanks for asking question.

Because of such unusual act you might have muscular strain of abdominal muscle.simple analgesic with hot compress is useful

But if impact is fast and strong enough yes blunt trauma to spleen can occur.USG done for it.Usually if spleen trauma present then treated conservatively .If spleen trauma comes severe and with blood accumulation then surgical management might needed.

For confirmation and if USG inconclusive and pain increasing then CT scan be done.

Wish you good health.

Take care...
