Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Leg cramps can come as result of nerve damage from diabetic peripheral neuropathy. You can medication such as Paracetamol and Ibuprofen to ease pain. Diabetic peripheral neuropathy can be treated with Cymbalta and Pregabalin. The lightheadedness and nausea maybe due to dehydration. Keep him hydrated. Keep him in observation.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

Severe pain from any condition can cause lightheaded sensation and nausea. This is part of the response to intense pain.

If the cramping recurs then he should be seen by his doctor for assessment.

Cramping can sometimes be due to over use of muscles, dehydration, electrolyte disturbance.

I hope this helps.
