What Causes Light And Brown Periods While On Junel Fe?
I ve been on birthcontrol for about 2 years now. I switched from implanting to junel fe in March and have been on the pill for 4 months. however this period is lighter and all brown, but I still have the usual painful cramps. it also came on the day it usually does. I also never missed one pill in my pack. is this normal?
Hello, I have gone through your query and understood the concern. During the initial months of using any hormone contraception, it is common to experience menstrual disturbances in the form of intermenstrual bleeding/spotting, scanty or heavy menstruation, irregular or absent cycles etc. As you seem to have developed the spotting after stabilizing on the pill, further investigation is needed. A sonogram of the pelvis preferably in the trans-vaginal route is helpful to clarify the situation and exclude pregnancy. Any cysts can also be excluded. Coagulation profile should be done frequently while on the hormone contraception. Please get further assistance from your health care provider. Take care.
