Hi, my husband and I have been trying to have kids for a just a few months now. I quit taking my birth control in August of this year. My last period was September 20 and I ve taken several pregnancy tests that have a negative result each time. Now I m working on week 9 that I haven t had a period and today I started lightly bleeding a dark brown color. I do not know what any of this means. Please help!

Hello,
If you have not attained a natural period after stopping the birth control pills, you should consult a specialist to look for a proper cause and also to evaluate the hormone status. Sometimes, ovaries need a kickback in the form of hormones to induce a period. With repeatedly negative tests, pregnancy is unlikely. A trans-vaginal sonogram can also help a lot to clarify the situation and finally, you may have to get a complete hormone profile. You seem to have some breakthrough spotting. You would need hormone supplements mostly. Hope this helps.
