What Causes Light Period And Stomach Upset?

Hi,....I had sex on the 10th 11th and 12th of this may. I used condoms. My regular periods were supposed to start from around 17th 18th,...which it did. But it lasted for just two days. The blood was initially bright red and the last day changed to dark maroon. I am having loose motion type pains (and I am having loose motions as well).Apart from that nothing else. Mainly,...my blood color changed,and my stomach area pained and not the area where period pains occur.I had loose motion almost every time my stomach pained. I had one metrogyl 400 tablet to stop the loose motion.Didnt work much.after thati stopped. I m on no medication right now.What is happening to me. My stomach most definitively starts paining after I have a lot of water or after i have my food.

Hello,

It seems more like a stomach infection than hormonal or menstrual problem. Just one Metrogyl tablet is not enough to control infection. I would advise you to start Norfloxacin 400 mg (Norflox 400) twice a day for 5 days. You can take Acetaminophen twice or thrice a day to control the pain and an antacid to control heartburn. Stay light on diet and drink lots of fluids. Include more fibers in your diet. Stomach infections can sometimes change bleeding amount of menstrual cycle due to the stress the body is put through.

By the time the course of the antibiotics end, you should be relieved of diarrhea and painful abdomen. If it is not resolved, you should go for physical examination by a physician and a blood test to ascertain complete blood count.
