What Causes Light Pink Bleeding After Past Menopause?
I am 10 years past menopause. I showed some light pink blood for two days then it stopped. Today I had a pap ( very painful). I am now going to have ultrasounds, pelvis ,uterus and vaginal. What are the questions I should ask. I really don t want a biopsy.
The most common cause of bleeding after menopause is related to thinning of the lining of uterus. It becomes more 'fragile' and prone to bleeding.
This accounts for as many as 90 % of cases. That being said, in as many as 10 to 15 % of cases, pre-cancerous or cancerous changes explain the bleeding.
This must be ruled out and the biopsy is necessary. You can always ask for a D and C procedure under anesthesia.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
