What Causes Light Spotting During Periods?

Well, when I was two days late for my period, I saw some brownish red blood when I wiped ONE time, I didn t see any more blood after that. But today, when I m 4 days late, I m seeing watery hot pink/pink/brownish blood but it s not enough to where I have to use a pad. I ve also been trying for a baby.
