What Causes Light Vaginal Bleeding After Tampon Removal?
Hi, after noticing a brown discharge a few days after my period ended I realised I had a lost tampon . I managed to remove the tampon this evening but now I have a small amount of fresh blood being discharged- is this normal or should I contact my GP?
You had a lost tampon in your vagina and now you are noticing a brown discharge. You managed to remove it this evening and are having fresh discharge. Foul smelling, colored discharge from the vagina can occur after tampon removal due to infection or clotted blood that could not be discharged. Let it flow out. You may experience pain or soreness in the pelvic area, swelling and itching in the vagina or discomfort when urinating.
Take care of your hygiene. Take bath regularly and wash the area thoroughly when you go to the washroom. In case you get fever, rashes, nausea, vomiting, sore throat then it may be indicative of toxic shock syndrome. Get clinically examined by your gynecologist, get treated. Stay away from addictions if any. Avoid any sexual activity for a few days.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
