What Causes Lightheadednes And Headaches While Smoking?
When I smoke a cigarette, I feel very lightheaded and I get a headache. Its not because I'm not used to cigarettes because I have been smoking for about a year now and its never happened before. I am 16 years old, and I'm about 5 foot 7. When I first started smoking, I got lightheaded but not headaches. Please tell me whats going on.
As per your query you have symptoms of lightheadedness and headaches while smoking it is because of effect of nicotine in smoke. Nicotine affects central nervous system and stimulates sensory nerve endings. This stimulation leads to release of adrenaline from adrenal medulla and leads to sudden increased blood flow in head area which causes these symptoms.
I would suggest you to stop taking smoke if its is effecting you so adversely. Try to switch on nicotine patches first and after then decrease slowly as its withdrawal effects on immediate basis could be severe.
Chew sugarless candies to keep your self diverted.
Drink lots of fluids and water.
Take multivitamin tablets rich in vitamin B12 to maintain immunity of your oral micro flora.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
