Dear Sirs, I have a peculiar ear problem : From October last year I hear a chanting in the ear, like a priest chanting in Tamil for 24 hours and it continues to this date ! From weeks ago it has become fainter. But before that I could hear the words and figures more clearer during the the night when it is quiet . Even when I close both ears I can still hear the chanting. Also I hear a slight hum beside this. What will be the cause ? please reply to my email. Thank you very much. Wish you well. Sincerely, Subramaniam YYYY@YYYY
The sounds are more clear at night as there is silence at night as well as when you close your ears with hands still you can hear as the sounds are being generated from within the ear and not outside..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and an Otoscopic evaluation along with other tests like Audiogram, MRI etc can help in confirmation of cause..
Hope this helps..
Regards.

What Causes Listening Of Sounds In Ear?
Hi.. Thanks for the query.. Buzzing and humming sounds in ear seems to be Tinnitus and can be due to a number of conditions like Chronic ear infection or Otitis media, perforated eardrum, chronic exposure to loud sounds,Eustachian tube dysfunction, Menierer s disease, acoustic neuroma etc..
