Dear patient We call this trigger finger and thumb. It's a condition commonly seen in elderly and occurs due to constriction of pulley through which tendon passes and hence interfere with smooth movement of tendons of fingers. Treatment is required and is very simple. Please consult orthopaedic surgeon nearby you for surgical release of pulley. It's opd procedure and can be done under local anesthesia and needle technique with good results.
