What Causes Long Menstrual Cycle?

hi,im 22 female,5'5'', having menstrual cycle disturbance,like my periodic cycle continous up to 15 days over which is abnormal,normal days of continuity is 3 to 5 days.Doctors suggested me for Ultarsonography of lower abdomen n LSH,FSH hotmore test n Norethesterone to have upto 5 days till period stasts again!What do u suggest??
