I am 44 years old and have a memory issue. I cannot remember a lot from my past. I have heard of people blocking out bad experinces but I don t remember happy occasions either such as the birth of my children or my wedding day. I can t remember some past relationships. My short term memory is fine and I can do daily functions perfectly so I don t think it falls into dementia category. Should I seek medical attention or is this normal aging?
Hello. I have been through your question and understand your concern.
Dementia generally begins with short term memory. Any way you should get a neurological consult, and more important have a brain MRI. If that comes out normal, then you should not worry about. You are too young to have dementia. Still, since you are concerned, you better have a brain MRI.
Hope this helps, please feel free using MHC again
