The maximum upper tolerance limit (UTL) for magnesium in supplement form for adults is 350 mg per day of elemental magnesium .
Magnesium supplement may help in muscle relaxation & reduce
stress and support nervous system and promote cardiovascular health.
Magnesium citrate contains 80 mg of elemental magnesium per 500 mg tablet.
Excessive bowel activity (eg,
diarrhea) in your case is due to adverse effect of mag citrate.
The recommended daily requirements of magnesium: Adult males: 400 - 420 milligrams.
Avoid prolonged usage Solgar mag citrate 400mg.
Foods are good sources of magnesium e.g Fruits or vegetables (such as bananas, dried apricots, and avocados),Nuts (such as almonds and cashews)
Peas and beans (legumes),Soy products (such as soy flour and tofu)
Whole grains (such as brown rice and millet).
