Hello and welcome to healthcaremagic.
I am dr asad sami.I have read your question and I can understand your concerns.
What is your age..??
Do you have anxiety or
depression.?
Any history of
irritable bowel syndrome.?
Any association of
diarrhea with gluten containing diet.?
Any history of liver disease or jaundice.?
If i were your treating physician i would have sent your stool for culture and sensitivity to look for any infective agent.
I would have sent your serum electrolytes.
I would have done your liver function tests to look for any obstructive pattern.clay colour stools can occur with this.
For now i would have prescribed broad spectrum antibiotics such as
ciprofloxacin 500mg or cefixime 400mg.i would have replenished your electrolytes via intravenous ringer lactate as low energy which you are feeling is due to loss of electrolytes in diarrhea.i would also have prescribed
metronidazole 400mg.
I would have adviced to take high fibre diet such as vegetables, fruits, bran and ispaghol husk.later on i would have changed the antibiotics according to sensitivity report.
Thanks.
Hope the answer is helpful.
Feel free to ask further questions.
Regards.Dr asad
