Pediatrician 's  Response
Hi,

But, if there is no fever, stools are not blood stained, she is otherwise active or playful, and feeding as usual, we need not worry at all. In such cases, antibiotics are not needed or useful. If at all giving some drugs, a zinc supplementation (For example - Z&D drops 1ml daily for 2 weeks) and probiotics (ex. enterogermina vial once daily) would be enough.

Also, give frequent sips of fluids like ORS to avoid dehydration. Take her to your pediatrician if she develops fever, stools becomes blood stained, or if she becomes lethargic and not feeding

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Muhammed Aslam T. K., Pediatrician
