What Causes Loose Stool, Intestinal Gas And Stomach Discomfort?

I m a male 71 years of age. I have a history of prostate cancer (2007) and diverticulosis (2014). I have a sudden onset of loose stools (2 days ago), gas and discomfort (past 2 days; continuing), and tar black stools this morning. Anything specific come to mind?
