What Causes Loose Stools With Mucus And Abdomen Pain In A 3 Year Old?

My 3 year old son had 2 loose bowel movements around noon today. Since 3:30 PM, he has had 5 or 6 toots that contain a mostly clear mucous, small in amount (less than teaspoon amount.) Any insight? He said his tummy hurt a little earlier this afternoon (around noon) and has eaten normally today.
