Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2month old infant is normally an every other day stooler. Early this morning they became more frequent and loose (about every 5 hours). He still has an appetite and is not vomiting. He has still been acting normal (ie. playing, cooing, smiling.) I was wondering what we should do?
As long as he is otherwise well, there is nothing that needs to be done. Babies can have occasional episodes of loose or hard stools that will self resolve over 24 hours.
It may be the beginning of a viral infection, but then you should soon have fever and/or vomiting. Otherwise, as you pay close attention it should change over the next 24 hours.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
