What Causes Losing Of Large Patches Of Hair On The Beard And Scalp?

i have alopecia areata.. i lost large patches of hair on my beard and on my scalp... in one month i have lost a lot of hair.. i have visited a dermatologist and i was advised..betnesol forte 1.0 mg_ pan 40 thrice a week.. also i was advised shelcal 500 alternative days... i am also using mor forte lotion daily.. is this good enough? i am worried because the hair loss and the patches seem to be increasing in size and affected area...

patches of hairloss...
-You are on pulsed steroid therapy and topical minoxidil lotion prescribed by
your doc are one of the approved and time tested modalities of treatment
for the condition...But the full effect of the treatment will be shown in
atleast 3-6 months...
-So, I advice you to continue the treatment given to you and have
patience,,,You are on the right treatment...
