What Causes Losing Voice With Sore Throat?

I continue to loose my voice almost every other month for almost a year now. sometimes it comes with a sore thoat like it is today. I thought originally that it was related to weakness in my body when my iron is low but i have been eating iron rich foods and taking iron pills. What could it be?

ENT Specialist 's  Response
Hi, thanks for your query.
You might be having infection of the vocal cords called laryngitis , usually following throat infection.
Apart from this, you might be having vocal cord nodule or other lesions of vocal cord causing loss and hoarseness of the voice.
I were your treating doctor, I would have examined you first by doing indirect laryngoscopy, diagnosed the disease and then would have treated you accordingly.
Emperically you can take serratipeptidase +trypsin+ chymo trypsin combination drugs thrice daily for 2 weeks.
Give adequate voice rest and do steam inhalation.
Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
