What Causes Loss Of Cognitive Function After A Spinal Injury?
My father is 90. He crushed a vertebra last week and was treated as an out patient at the ER. After a kyfoplasty, he was sent home with no further treatment and I was told he would be back to himself in 24 hours. In the past five days his cognitive function, which was excellent just a week ago, has tanked. He can t even remember how to answer the phone or the word for shoes. The only pain medication he is taking is a small dose of hydrocodon. He has had a followup with his doctor but everyone is completely ignoring his loss of cognitive function. I have no idea what to do for him.
