What Causes Loss Of Control After Small Dose Of Alcohol?
for the past year when i drink more than 4 glasses of wine my mouth on the lefthand side sometimes freezes so i cant speak for about 30 seconds. obviously i can stop drinking which is fine but could this be down to something else ? there have been no other symptons and it is only when i drink. i drink no more than two nights out of 7.
Alcohol has a variety of effects. There's a paradoxical effect where inhibitions are blocked.. which is what I thought you were asking about loss of control...but, it can have more effects on damping down the brain at higher doses. The amount, 4 glasses is relatively high, and can cause unconsciousness in many people. generally right handed people get symptoms on the right side when they have speech issues of stroke but this isn't always the case. Can, theoretically be unmasking a risk of stroke or seizure, and certainly is a reason to stop more like 1-2 glasses. EEG and looking at brain circulation would rule out the risks, then, it's just a heavy anaesthetic action of the alcohol.
