What Causes Loss Of Hearing?

I have had a loss of hearing for approx 11/2 years. ( I hear crackling and feel like I need to clear my ears, like an altitude change) . Recently I contracted bronchitis and sinus infection. I was prescribed Levoquin for 10 days. I blew my nose constantly and had major amounts of greenish/yellow mucous, and after blowing experienced hearing restored, briefly. My hearing is not damaged, so what do you suggest I do?

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi.
Thanks for your query.
You have a classical history of upper respiratory bacterial infection in the nose and sinuses which traverse through Eustachian tubes to middle ear.

I would advise you the following:
Get an opinion of an ENT surgeon for clinical evaluation, examination and investigations.
Get a proper antibiotic cover and additional anti-inflammatory and decongestant medicines.
Not blowing the nose is a prerequisite.
take steam inhalations.
Complete the 3 week course and you may be recovered well .
I find this answer helpful
