i am 39 weeks and really havent had an contractions to speak of, i lost my mucus plug at 36 weeks. They stripped my membranes last week and i have lost 3 globs of mucus about the size of my hand since last night? what is that? and should i call my doctor or is it normal?
Hi, It is not normal to see so much mucus so long after stripping and you must see your health care provider at once. Also, watch for fetal movements, spotting and any draining. If things are favorable and the you still do not have any success in the onset of labor, induction may be done with hormones under strict monitoring. Sometimes, meconium may be passed if membranes have been opened during the process of stripping. Please take adequate rest in left lateral position, oral fluids and avoid stress. Wish you safe motherhood.
