What Causes Loss Of Padding On Feet?

My mother has lost the padding on her feet. I was wondering if there are any injections she could get. The Podiatrist said she is not a candidate for surgery. She is 83. The Doctor said the bone is almost through the skin on one of her feet. She is always in a lot of pain. Any suggestion?

Hi,
This is not uncommon at this age.
She can be given steroid shot at the point of pain site.
Use soft cushion in the shoes so that hard impact at the site can be minimized.
give her calcium, B1, B6 and B12 medicines.
Give her nourishing food.
Ok and take care.
