What Causes Loss Of Period And Weight Gain After Taking Crisanta?

Doctor, I got aborted by 19th Nov 2011, and my doctor consulted me to take Crisanta and till today (27th dec 2011) i dint got periods (usually i will get periods within 27days) may i know for what purpose they gave that tablet for me? After consuming that tablet i have increased my weight very much is that tablet is safe? can i get the regular periods? whether my weight will decrease?

Hi,

After abortion,menstrual cycle will resume in 4 to 8 weeks. Irregular period can occur with the use of Crisanta during the first three months of starting the drug. Your body will adjust to the new hormone levels in the next few cycles. Fluid retention is the most common cause of weight gain after using contraceptive pills rather than fat accumulation.
