What Causes Lots Of Watery Discharge During The Ovulation With Foul Odor?
Hi I am a 42 years old married woman with years of treatment for Endometriosis. My illness seems to be under control.I am off of any medication for endometriosis. My third and last surgery was done two years ago. Recently I have lots of watery brownish discharge around my ovulation time. It smells very feminine!!!! I don't know how to explain it but it is not a bad smell. there is no other sign just a bit of lower back pain. Should it be a cause for concern. Thanks, Maryam
During ovulation some amount of spotting or blood mixed vaginal discharge which can present as a brownish discharge can be experienced. This usually occurs due to hormonal fluctuation during the ovulatory period.
As it occurs due to natural hormonal fluctuation, there may not be any foul smell. This can be seen endometriosis also.
Especially when endometriomas or adhesions affect the ovaries. Some amount of pain can be seen during ovulation due to stretching of ovarian follicle.
If the brownish discharge and pain persist in the next cycles better to get evaluated.
By clinical examination and ultrasound the possible cause of your problem can be identified and treatment can be planned with your Gynecologist's advice.
