What Causes Loud Cracking Sound During The Spasm Of Ileocecal Valve?

YYYY@YYYY Hello i wonder if i can pick your brains. my 23 year old daughter has had an ilieocal valve problem for approx 2 years she is more or less bed ridden with it. it spasm’s alot and it also makes a tremenderous cracking noise as loud as you clap your hands together. you can actualy hear this some distance away not eggagerating but even she is up the top of the house in her bedroom which is 33 stairs up and with the telly on down stairs we can hear it crack/snap. the pain when this happens is unbearable and it makes her crumble to the floor. there is often a red mark over the valve when it cracks. we have tried massageing it 4/5/6 times aday but it does not stop the crack or give relief...i really thought it would by what i have read on it. in fact when we massage it it goes really hard then relaxes it does this all the time while massageing and you can see and feel the tummy rise to some considerable degree. you can feel the valve it feels like a small knot in the tummy. we have tried. the whole diet thing. comfrey. slippery elm. aloe vera different type teas. warm water. it will even crack in the night and wake her up with the pain, some times its a single crack at a time, some times its multiple cracks like you ckap you hands together as loud as you can or some times this can go on for an hour. its not hips.bone or tendons its def right over the ilieocacal valve as that is where the inflamed red patch will occure she does get severe heartburn and some times some white thick bile stuff come up in her mouth that is very thick and bitter, we do think she has a hiatas hernia because of the latter but doctors dont seem to take intrest in these sort of hernias as they are very common. she also brings blood up some times even if you go over a bump in the car on the road, or you miss a step when stepping of it. or some times if you massage her tummy she can bring blood up. this has been the same time as the cracking started but doctors dont know what it is. have you ever in your carreer heard of this cracking noise that is so loud and can go on for so long and is so painful. her energy levels are completley gone she gets out of bed approx 15 mins and other days she dont get out at all. when she did move around normally on a daily basis it would still do it so its not due to lack of exercise. its not gas as i think this was ruled out? any ideas at all she is 23 and so worn out we are constantly going up to her day and night to try to relieve/massage but to no avail. thank you for your time but no one has ever heard of this before she cannotbe the only one on the planet kind regards jean delderfield ( mum )

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hi,

Though seemingly look clinically irrelevant to have such loud crackling, kindly provide me all the reports. If possible, the video recording of the sound so that I can assess it further precisely if you have no objection for the same.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel,
General Surgeon
