What Causes Low B/p Levels?

my husband is 65 years old, 6ft2 240 lbs. is a veteran and is on medications for PTSD, chloresterol, thryoid, blood pressure. His b/p is usually good but lately has been experiencing low blood pressure readings for hours at a time. example 83/59, 78/60, 90/66, 78/61. He claims to feel light headed also. His prescription for lisinopril is 10mg. What could be causing this drop in b/p for hours at a time?

Hi, thank you for asking Healthcare Magic.
With this presentation, I think the cause of low blood pressure is coming from the drugs he is taking. Some drugs used in the treatment of some thyroid conditions act directly on the heart, reducing heart beat and consequently blood pressure (example Beta blockers). Also, he is on lisinopril which reduces blood pressure. I would suggest you see his treating doctor or cardiologist to review his prescription.

I hope that answers your query. If you have more questions or any follow up query do not hesitate to write to us.
I wish him well
