What Causes Low Grade Fever, Diarrhea And Vomiting?

I have had sever diarrrhea for four days. it was, on the first day, accompanied by fairly severe abdominal cramping and a small bit of vomiting, and possible a low grade fever. It seemed to be subsiding by the end of day 2. I began the brat diet until the end of day three and had not had a reccurrance. I began some solid foods, perhaps a bit too much, but lean meats, rice, thin broth, steamed vegetables. I am now experiencing a complete relapse, without the cramping/fever, but with a lot of abdominal noise and movement. What can a dcotor do to help?

Hi.
Thanks for your query.
Noted the history and understood the concerns.
Severe diarrhea, abdominal cramping and possible low grade fever indicate that there might have been an intestinal infection.
Since you have treated with diet change and so, starting normal diet could have instigated the recurrence hence causing abdominal noises and movements.
I would advise you the following:
First of all have normal diet.
Send the stool for tests and get an opinion of your Doctor so that a clinical evaluation and correlation with the reposts can help him to stat a proper antibiotic cover active against intestinal infection, activated charcoal tablets and probiotics.
Also needed may be the antacid and a PPI like Pantoprazole and other symptomatic treatment.
I find this answer helpful
