What Causes Lower Back Pain And Vomiting In A Diabetes Patient?

My husband has been vomiting a lot upon waking up in the morning and getting out of bed. He has diabetes and is on insulin. This morning we had sausage links and eggs and toast and milk, for breakfast, he started vomiting not long after that, he is extremely over weight and does drink beer in the evening. He has sharp pains in his lower left back area.

Hi, thank you for posting.

I have gone through your query and I understand your concerns.

I think that your husband had an alimentary intoxication(food poisoning). This is favored by Diabetes and alcohol.
Rehydration is necessary in these cases. To get rehydrated your husband must take ORS(Oral rehydration solution) and drink a lot of fluids.

I have to say that your husband must not drink alcoholic drinks, because it is damages pancreas.

A consultation with and infectologist is necessary.

Wish you good health.
Dr. Behar.
