I am 36 weeks pregnant and i have been having really bad lower back pain since yesterday and i had contractions that would not go away no matter what i did. And my back pain wont go away. But i have not had anymore contractions that i know of. What should i do?
Sensations of the mouth of the uterus (cervix) is referred to the low back area. When you are approaching delivery pains, first the cervix starts getting pulled up and stretched. That gives rise to low back pain. Even the labour pains start from the low back area going to the front. Moreover, the forward bending position during pregnancy is also responsible for low back ache. However, to start labour pains at 36 weeks is rather too early. You have to some how pull on for one more week at least. If your uterus is also becoming hard along with low back ache, please report to your obstetrician and/or midwife. Take full rest - particularly in left side position. I hope you got the message.
