I went the er Sunday due to being thrown into a pipe fence from my horse. They did xrays and a ct scan nothing broke. But I have a huge jiggly lump on my thigh. It is the size of a pineapple and is turning purple around the edges. The skin is numb but it hurts to touch. I have been icing it. When should I see another doctor about it. Not taking any meds.
hi and welcome to HCM since there was no fracture, you dont have to be concerned. this lump is obvioously swelling of soft tissue or partial muscle rupture. it should pull back within 2 weeks. just rest, keep leg elevated and ice it,there is no other treatment method. Wish you good health. Regards
Hi welcome to HCM. This large sized lump on your thigh could be post traumatic concussion lead to the formation of hematoma. Its strongly recommended not to have any needle procedures as it can result in profuse bleeding. Its advisable to have an MRI scan if it seems to expand rapidly. Ointment Thromboprobe can be applied daily to resolve the lump. In most cases the lump resolves by itself. In cases if it does not resolve, the risk of being infected is high. In all such cases, it has to be opened and explored under general anaesthesia. Aspiration of the blood material will help to improve the condition. Consult your surgeon for further assistance. Thank you.
