What Causes Lump Between Chest?

hello, my name is Teresa. I have a lump in between my chest... for a year now ive thought that it was maybe because ive lost some weight that it may be a bone.. but now I have some concerns that since it sticks out quite a lot that it may be a lump instead. I don t feel any pain, even when I touch it.

Hello and welcome to HCM,
Lump between chest can be due to soft tissue swelling or bony lesion.
A X-ray of the chest is required to know the site of the swelling and its relation with other structures in chest.
In case the swelling is due to soft tissue, an aspiration cytology of the lesion will be required.
Aspiration cytology involves aspiration of cells, spreading on slide and staining with appropriate stains.
The stained cells are studied under microscope to assess the origin and nature of the lesion.
In case the selling turns out to be a bony lesion, biopsy may be required to know the character of the lesion.
