My 8 year old daughter has been complaining of a lump feeling in her throat. At first it didn't bother her, but now it is affecting her appetite and does not want to eat as she said she doesn't like the feeling. I did take her to her pediatrician about a week after she noticed it and he said she looked fine. But, it's been almost 2 weeks now and still there. Help!
Probably, it may be due to pharyngitis or tonsillitis or adenoids or GERD or post nasal discharge etcetera leading to irritation on the throat and thereby leading to lumpy feeling.
Until examination is done, it is difficult to say what it is. Use salt water gargling thrice a day for five and water vapour inhalation.
Please consult your ENT specialist who will examine and treat you accordingly.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
