What Causes Lump In Left Side Mouth Roof?

I have a lump in the left side of the roof of my mouth. It's only slightly different than the other side, but there's definately something different. It doesn't hurt, but sometimes it just feels funny. I have not had any colds or anything like that, but I do have drainage in my right nostril that has been going on for months now.

Hi dear ,

There can be two possibility for lump on the roof .

First the lump could be a mucocele . A mucocele is a harmless lump or cyst-like swelling that develops in the mouth, sometimes on the palate (roof) of mouth, which is caused by blocked salivary glands.

Secondly it could be due to Torus palatinus. A torus palatinus is a bony protrusion on the palate (roof) of mouth. This growth is a normal and usually harmless bony elevation .

I would suggest you to consult oral surgeon for proper diagnosis . Doctor may surgically remove in both cases . Torus palatinus should be removed if it interfere with normal functioning of oral cavity .

Hope your concern has been resolved.
