January 2010 cold w/ cough that lasted near 3 weeks. February stiff neck and shoulders then lump in throat that does not hurt. After 3 weeks of advil, heating pads for stiff neck and lump in throat , went to ENT. He spent about 5 minutes with me. Said the lump was probably in saliva gland which probably occurred due to stress in neck and shoulders. Wrote Prescrip for Soma. Soma did not seem to do anything for lump and advil works better for pain relief. I work everyday and the soma seems to make me groggy and keeps stomach upset. Massage twice a week now for 3 weeks along with advil and moist heat morning and night. No progress though. I can really feel lump when am getting massage and lying on stomach. Feels like a chicken bone stuck in my throat. Neck and shoulders are always stiff and uncomfortable ache is always there. I can feel a Thump in my throat where the lump is every time I turn my head to the left. Ideas?
