What Causes Lump In Throat While On Treatment For Hypothyroidism?

I have hypothyroidism and had a baby 3 weeks ago. My Endocrinologist has kept a close watch on my levels thoughout my pregnancy and told me to drop to Synthroid 100mcg the day after delivery. (I was on 137mcg) For the past few days, I feel like I have a lump in my throat. Could this be related or anxiety or just allergies? I have no other symptoms....

Endocrinologist 's  Response
Hello and thank you for asking!

Congratulations for the baby!

To confirm rather it is a pathological lump or just a sensation, you need a careful clinical examination and an ultrasound of the thyroid and neck.
Lowering the levothyroxine dose does not such side effects.
Persons diagnosed with Hashimoto thyroiditis have a higher probability for thyroid nodules and they should be under ultrasound monitoring.
Will be a pleasure to give you a further opinion after the ultrasound results.

Best wishes,
Dr.Mirjeta
