What Causes Lump Near Vagina After Taking Medication For UTI?
So I went to the ER thinking I had a UTI. The doctor didn t confirm or deny my thought but gave me some antibiotics and some pain reliever. So now I ve completed those meds and have noticed that there is a lump on the the side of my vagina where my lip is on the right side it s a little smaller than an egg but it don t seem connected to anything like I can feel completely around it. And also when I wiped today there was a little blood and I ve had some frequent pain when urinating. Do you know what the lump could be or what my problem is?
Hi! Good evening. I am Dr Shareef answering your query. From the history, it seems that you had an infected Bartholin's cyst on the right side which was controlled by extensive antibiotic therapy prescribed by your doctor. Also the pain during passing urine points to a possible co existence of a UTI. If I were your doctor, I would refer you to a gynaecologist, who after a clinical assessment of the lump, would also go for some routine investigations like a CBC, urine routine/microscopic/culture and sensitivity test to rule out a UTI, and after it was treated, might go for a surgical intervention for a permanent cure of the lump.
I hope this information would help you in discussing with your family physician/treating doctor in further management of your problem. Please do not hesitate to ask in case of any further doubts.
Thanks for choosing health care magic to clear doubts on your health problems. I wish you an early recovery. Dr Shareef.
