What Causes Lumps On Armpits?
Hi! I have had lumps under my armpits for a little over a year now. It started with one under my right arm, but now I have multiple lumps under both arms. Sometimes the lumps start to open into open sores that leak or weep. I had a staff infection about a year ago, but have been on multiple antibiotics and just don't know what's wrong now.

1.The history and location suggest the possible cause will be hair follicle infection with collection of pus within.
2.Next cause could be infection and collection in the subcutaneous plane.
3.The treatment in this case will be - in small lumps an incision and drainage will help followed by antibiotic treatment.
4.In small uncomplicated cases a course of antibiotic will be enough with symptomatic medication.
5.As a remedy - avoid squeeze, press, scratch the lumps ( you will only complicate in this way), avoid shaving until heals - use trimmer mean while, maintain local hygiene, clean with antiseptic liquids, avoid clothing that will cause irritation in that area - use soft clotting. Good luck.
