What Causes Lung And Shoulder Area Pain?

Hello, Monday I had a hysteropcopy, laparoscopy, and D&C, under General anesthesia. The surgery area is fine, however I am still having a significant amount of pain in and around my right lung and shoulder area. I read this could be a side affect of the gasses used during surgury. My doctor s assistant suggested I go to the hospital if I was having chest pain. I suggested it may be the gas, but now I m not sure. Could it be my lung? Should I wait it out, or make an expensive trip to the E.R?

Hello ma'am and welcome.

I would just recommend an EKG (ECG) and once this reports a normal result, all you need to do is take as many fluids as possible with a little antacid before each meal (eg. tums, gelusil, etc.). We as doctors always like to rule out the worst to make sure our patient is fine, and is experiencing nothing serious.

I hope a simple EKG should not prove to be expensive. Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
