What Causes Lymphadenopathy After Thyroid Cancer Removal?

Throid removed 2009 papillary cancer contained within thyroid no treatment after surgery. I have been developing lymph nodes and nodules on both sides of the neck ultra sounds performed every 3 months, biopsy conducted Nov 2013 results benign. Can you tell me what is going on and what else should I be doing.

Most often they could be benign or harmless.
However, it depends on the nature of the cancer and it's characteristics.
Post surgery Monitoring involves :
serum Tg levels
Serial ultrasound scans to see if they are increasing in size.
If required or suspicious finding, iodine scan may be considered by your primary doctor.
