What Causes Marks On Body After Exposure To Sun?
Largish irregular marks on torso. Not itchy, not raised. Appeared after being in the sun. Still there after 7 months. Have had steroid treatment to no effect. My husband is 73 years old, slim build and European. The marks cause no discomfort, but knowing what they are would be helpful. Connected to contact with sun?

Hi,
You might be suffering from post inflammatory hyperpigmentation following photoallergic dermatitis or phototoxic dermatitis. Topical steroid Hydroquinone and Tretinoin combination is used for short duration to treat this hyper pigmentation. You should not use this preparation beyond a certain period of time because chronic steroid abuse can lead to permanent atrophy and Telangiectasia.
