What Causes Menstrual Irregularity In PCO Patient?
Hello DoctorI am a PCO patient since 2008 but have had regular periods. I dont skip periods just once or twice in a blue moon. I am on glucophage 500 mg twice a day and show no symptoms of PCOs not even weight gain. I gained weight ridiculously when i was diagnosed and put on Diane35. After that in these mnay years I eventually reduced. However its almost 2 months I didnt have a period. What should I do? Will the period commence on its own?
Hi, I have read your question and would like to advise. Menstrual irregularity is very common in patients with Pcos, I am glad in your case you have been having normal periods since you were diagnosed with pcos. In my opinion you should wait one more month your period might come back, sometimes life style changes, stress, certain medication interfere with the cycle. if you do not get period within one month then you should see your doctor. Periods are considered irregular if you get less than 8 periods in one year and per cycle is more than 35 days or less than 21 days. Hope this answer is helpful. Thanks Dr.Pari
