What Causes Menstrual Like Cramps, Back Pain And Nausea?
I have severe back pain every time I get my period. This weekend 2 weeks after my period and 4 days after an ultrasound, I got extremely nauseous and had stomach pain. Now it s day 5 and I m throwing up, have diarrhea and have heavy bleeding. It is not a period but there is cramping and back pain just like I had 2 weeks ago with my actual period. Could the ultrasound have caused this? Nothing was of note on my ultrasound but I was diagnosed with endometriosis back in 2016. I am not pregnant.
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Endometriosis does cause back pain, pain during bowel movements or urination, painful intercourse. Heavy bleeding is a sign of endometriosis and you need to be physically re-examined and evaluated to screen out the stage(minimum, mild, moderate or severe) in which your endometriosis is at present. Women with history of endometriosis are more prone to ovarian cancer, sometimes endometrial implants get transformed to cancer. USG and laparoscopy re-used to rule out endometriosis or malignancy. It can be treated by medication or surgery depending upon the stage of the disease.
