What Causes Metallic Smell, Dizziness And Nausea?

I was sitting in my room, feeling fine, then started to smell a weird metallic smell, I couldn t tell where it was coming from... I got an immediate headache, became dizzy and nauseated.... And, my eyes hurt.... What would cause those symptoms... No one else smells the metallic smell...

Hello!

I read your question carefully and understand your concern.

Your symptoms seem to be olfactory hallucinations, which occur during partial epilepsy seizures. Anxiety or chronic infections of upper airways can also cause smell disorders.

I recommend you to consult with the neurologist for a careful physical examination and a routine blood test, kidney and liver function tests and blood electrolytes.

An EEG and a brain CT scan are necessary to exclude seizures and a possible brain lesion.
