What Causes Migraine And Enterovirus Infection?

Our 17 year old daughter has found hot spots on both arms above the elbow and on the outer side of her arm this evening. I felt her arms and they are cool everywhere except those two spots which are very hot. She has also been running a low grade fever for about a week. She says she feels like she cannot get enough oxygen. We live in a small town and have not been able to get her in to her regular doctor but we have took her to the emergency room yesterday where she was diagnosed with migraine, infection, enterovirus . They gave her something for pain and sent her home.

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Enterovirus infections are usually caused by direct contact or air borne infection via coughs, sneezes, etc. It is contagious for 7-10 days & may cause upper respiratory tract diseases, migraine, sometimes it causes severe respiratory tract illness(viral meningitis, viral encephalitis). Get her properly diagnosed & treated at the earliest. Neglect will result in severity of the illness.

Migraine may be caused due to intake of highly processed food, hormonal changes, anxiety, stress, depression, excitement or shock, oily food, dehydration, pollution, stuffy room, strong smell, smoke. Avoid addictions if any. She can take Naproxen, Acetaminophen for relieve.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
