What Causes Mild Abdominal Cramps During Pregnancy?

I am a 5 weeks pregnant and have been experiencing mild to semi moderate cramps for about a week straight. The cramps change in intensity throughout the day but are the worst at night. I have no vaginal bleeding, but its my first pregnancy and I haven't met by OBGYN yet. Should I be worried? I planned on calling my general practitioner on monday, but I'm nervous

welcome to Health care magic.

1. The most possible cause could be generalised pains which may resolve with simple pain killers. ( abdominal discomfort / pain)
2.Simalar symptoms are seen in the missed abortion - and it can not be ruled out.
3.Yes you should be worried, as missed abortion can not be ruled out, missed abortion with out spotting / bleed also seen.
4.Good that you have appointment, let your doctor advise you a ultrasound scan. Where viable pregnancy can be confirmed.
5.Generall 5 1/2 weeks trans vaginal fetal heart rate can be detected.

Hope it helps you. Wish you a good health.
